On Saturday, February 20,
2010, Eric and Drew and Sarah and I went to Hood
Canal to dive at a site called "Flag Pole
Point". There is a rock feature off of the point
about 120 yards and 65 feet or so deep that has
a garden of cloud sponges growing on it. We were
seeking the cloud sponge garden on our first
dive. But we didn't find the rock feature. It is
likely that the incoming tide caused us to drift
to the North as we were surface swimming out to
the drop point.
On the second dive, we found
a rock feature closer to shore and not as deep.
It was abundant with life and we captured many
photos and some video of it.
I created the the video dive
report to commemorate the Hood Canal dive.
